Palmer and I are here with a direct reminder that saying to yourself, my family needs to be better is always a symptom of a bigger problem. Not knowing how to keep your tween or teen talking to you and you’re, and worrying that your family isn’t as healthy as it could be, can be terribly unsettling.
You’ve poured yourself into the wellbeing of your family, and it can still feel like something is missing. Maybe your family is short on meaningful conversations, or fun, or a sense of closeness. Maybe you worry that your kids won’t want to come home once they leave. Sometimes this can be because you get triggered by your kids behavior.
Maybe you feel good as a parent sometimes, but then do stuff that leaves you feeling guilty. It can be because you’re worried and angry about how much conflict goes on in your house. On the other side of My Family Could Be Better is a close, connected family where everyone feels seen and loved, where you have fun together, and relationships are emotionally healthy.
You can be a parent that your kids want to talk to. In a close connected family, there is empathy and playfulness and you can relax around each other versus walking on eggshells. There are no perfect people or perfect families, but you can feel good about the messy, loving, imperfect family that you’ve worked so hard to create.
Our mission at The Connected Family is to give you the tools and support that you need in building a close, connected family that your kids want to come home to. We address self awareness, parenting skills, and healthy relationships in all of our lessons. If your family could use some up leveling, we would love to invite you to join our Parent Coaching Group, because it’s tricky to hold your kids close while also letting them go.
